In the above paper, a triumph in science and medicine, Koch isolated and identified the tubercle bacillus, establishing the infectious nature of the disease and opened the way to combat one of the worst scourges of mankind. Using body fluids and blood serum as host, Koch was able to cause anthrax and tubercular organisms to grow outside the body." First edition.
