Sinkankas p. 1066 :" A quite remarkable scientific treatise on calculi but also containing numerous account's of Venette's geological studies, and even incorporating a folding engraved plate of Mount Etna in Sicily. Venette was inttrigued by the concretionary forms of calculi and similar-appearing objects elsewhere than in the human body, eg, pearls in shellfish, corals, and in the mineral & fossil kindgom, all of which suggested to him that some common cause of formation was at work, and it is this thesis that pervades the work.
